High School Varsity Head Coach & SCLA Program Director
Prior to joining the Southlake Carroll Lacrosse Association as Program Director and Varsity Head Coach, Bruce served as an Assistant Coach to University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Head Lacrosse Coach Joe Breschi from 2016 through 2018. Before that, Bruce was Director for 3D Northern California from 2014-2016, and Associate Head Coach at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut from 2005-2014. Bruce also spent two seasons on the lacrosse coaching staff at Fairfield University.
Bruce played collegiate lacrosse at Division III Eastern Connecticut State University in Windham, Connecticut.
Upon learning of Bruce’s decision to lead the SCLA lacrosse program, UNC Lacrosse Head Caoch Breschi said, “I’m thrilled for Bruce and the entire Southlake lacrosse community. He is a terrific relationship guy, and what impressed me the most was his ability to connect with players. Bruce brings great versatility to Southlake with his extraordinary knowledge of both sides of the ball and his ability to lead. We will miss him in Chapel Hill but the future is bright for him in Southlake.”
Boy's High School Assistant Coach (Head JV)
Prior to joining SCLA, Coach Price played professional lacrosse for the Dallas Rattlers during the 2018 season in the Major League Lacrosse. He was drafted by the MLL’s Denver Outlaws in 2017. Price played NCAA Division I lacrosse at High Point University in High Point, North Carolina from 2012-2016. At High Point, he started all four years and was selected First Team All-Southern Conference and was second in program history in caused turnovers. Price played high school lacrosse for Lambert High School, in Suwanee, GA where he helped his teams win two Georgia state championships as a two-time All-County honoree. He was also an All-State and All-American honoree during his senior year.
High School offensive assistant and Youth 7/8 Coach
Joe (Coach K) brings more than fifteen years’ coaching experience to the Southlake Carroll Lacrosse program, which includes collegiate assignments at Division I and Division III programs as well as at the high school and youth levels.
Joe played professional lacrosse in the Major League Lacrosse, North America’s oldest professional field lacrosse league. During his professional career as a midfielder, Joe posted 35 points in 31 career games. He played collegiate lacrosse at Hofstra University where he was four-year starter at attack and was named to the Hofstra All-Decade Team in 2009. The Flying Dutchmen advanced to the NCAA playoffs four times, including two trips to the NCAA quarterfinals during Kostolansky’s Hofstra career. In high school, Kostolansky was an All-American attackman at Corning East High School in upstate NY. During his three-year varsity career, his Trojan teams had a combined record of 59-3.
Boys High School Assistant Coach (goalies)
A veteran lacrosse player from the longtime lacrosse powerhouse region of Long Island, NY, Matis began playing organized lacrosse in junior high school and was taught the game by junior high and high school coaches who had been All-American players at Hofstra University.
Coach Matis brings a unique training style to his goalie coaching efforts thanks to a competitive lacrosse career playing attack. Coach Matis trains his goalies to understand the tendencies of shooters and anticipate the opponents moves. Additionally, Coach Matis draws on his professional career in order provide the physical and mental training needed to manage the chaos goalies endure in game situations.
During his 15 years of coaching experience, Matis’ students have gone on to receive All-State, All-District, All-State Honorable Mention honors. He has also coached three Team MVP goalies, and a State Championship.
Boys High School Assistant Coach (Face-Off specialist)
Jon joined the Southlake Carroll Lacrosse Association in 2020 and brings more than 15 years of lacrosse experience and more than 10 years of deep understanding and passion for the Face-Off element of the game.
Jon played collegiate lacrosse in the Mens Collegiate Lacrosse Association for Concordia University-Irvine, CA where he was four-year starter and Face-Off Specialist and Two-Way Midfielder.
Jon’s coaching career includes serving as co-head coach of the JV program at Capistrano Valley High School in Mission Viejo, CA from 2014-2015 as well as varsity coach at Capistrano Valley.
Jon grew up in Salt Lake City, UT and played four years of high school lacrosse at Juan Diego Catholic High School in Draper, UT.
